Mediterranean Gecko

Had a hard time getting this guy in focus, he was less than 2 inches long, cute as hell though... Is hell cute? anyway, we found him in a box at work today, tried to shoot him with a probe lens, didn't work out so well, so i took him home and released him onto the porch where there is alot of good hiding places and bugs to munch on.

Ogeechee River Kayaking

Spent about five hours on the river today didn't catch a damn thing, to be honest I didn't try to hard. especially after i hit a log and sent my tackle box floating down the river, I caught up to it eventually. Saw alot of interesting birds, turtles, no gators though. Found the biggest grasshopper i have ever seen. Ran into alot of interesting charcters on the river, camping out on the banks grilling fishing jumping out of trees. I'm used to beaches, ponds, or lakes, don't know why i thought rivers should be any different. "Ya'll" has officialy worked its way into my vocabulary.

The Roses

Last night we went to a Japanese restaurant, the ones where you sit at the skillet and they come and cook the food in front of you, I was to embarrassed to take pictures. Then we went back to our friends house and cheated on winthrop.

Taylor is an all American Bulldog, she looks like a bloated Winthrop.

Sean is such a skilled electrician, he can change a light bulb with out even looking.

I'm just waiting for these two to break out the "FRIENDS 4-eva" pendants.

lil 'D' is a feisty one.

More pix from Georgie State Park

It is really cool how the Eastern Box Turtle's shell has a hinge so it can completely seal itself inside. Gotta love them dragonflies, feroscious predators by land and sea.

Gerge L. Smith II State Park

Drove about seventy miles North West of Savannah to George Smith State park, Saw some interesting vegetation and I was psyched to find this Eastern Box Turtle sitting in the middle of the trail, actualy Keely and Winthrop found the turtle i was Stumbling about in the bush trying to get a picture of a butterfly, that sucker was fast. Had a run in with an armadillo and a snake (possibly a water moccasin I only saw its tail) neither would pose for the camera. Had to put the pic of the covered bridge, for my dad. It was hot as hell though, car thermometer was reading 103, so it probably was about 100 degrees out. Definitelyt worth the drive.

Win & Fin

John, Caroline, And Finnegan came over the other night, we had some beverages and played Apples to Apples ( A gift from Justin Walker, I thought was crap at the time, but we play it on a regular basis, Thanks dude.) Winthrop was happy to have a little buddy to play with, it's almost impossible to get them to sit still to take a picture. The summer is going by pretty lazily, I am working on another thesis project at the end of the month called, Tremendous Dave, the story of a super hero whose powers are more of an inconvenience than anything. Should be fun.

Adios Amigos.

Maggie

We got the sad news from the Vet today, Maggie has passed away. We only knew her for a very short time, but she stole our hearts. I am just glad her suffering is over and if in fact there is a better place I'm sure she's there.

The Nations Birthday

Had a decent fourth of july, besides the fact we had to bring our new pupy to the emergency room, she is still in the vets care now, and we are not sure how it is going to turn out. Anyway enough of that, went to a bar b q at our friend Tori's brought winthrop along he did very well except for when he kept going underneath the grill trying to lick up all the fat dripping down. Jef Keely and I went down to river st. 2 c the fireworks launched from the savannah river, it was funny 2 think only a year earlier Keely and I were sitting on the banks of the Charles River doing the same, funny where life takes you. we then went back to Tori's to have a fireworks display of our own, after a drunken disgruntled neighbor with a miller light tall boy came over to yell at us, keely and I decided to call it a night.

Goldern Silk Spider

I found this girl living directly under our back stairs, she looks mean but is not venomous, and will only bite when provoked. These guys are all over the place, their webs are really strong though, when you walk through one in the woods they're hard to break. the coloring on her abdomen is a beautiful. gold, red, and brown. She is about the sice of of the palm of my hand

The newest member of the Farrell Family

I know yall think we're crazy getting a second dog, but you don't have to come home to winthrop sitting in the same place i left him six hours earlier, with his kong filled with peanut butter lying next to him untouched, heart wrenching. So we got a pet for our pet, Magnolia (maggie) is 9 months old and a whopping 6lbs. she is a chihuaha/daschund mix and cute as hell.

I nicknamed her The Turd because when we got her home all she did was sleep, but now the name has taken on new meaning, we brought her to the vet and discovered her sleepiness is due to a bacterial infection in her digestive system, we have been giving her some medications but she has been puking and shiting all over the place, we are a bit worried and if she doesn't come around by tomorrow we'll have to make another trip tp the vet.

poor little maggie, winthrop is being a very good big brother though, coming over and giving her kisses and bringing toys over for her now and then.
