saw this guy at the jinx on thursday night. It might have been the most high energy show I have ever been to it was awesome. Unfortunately someone spilled a beverage on his equipment (he plays on the floor in the middle of the crowd and lets people dance on stage) so he had to cut the show short. He is playing at the middle east in cambridge on july 12th go check em out (jess).

Adventures on Ebeneezer

Keely and I rented Kayaks on Ebeneezer creek yesterday morning and it was alot of fun. The canon isn't woking so well so we got some pictures on the 35mm still camera so you probably won't be seeing them on the blog. It was really amazing a never ending black water cypress swamp. I had a blast , but Keely was a bit unnerved by all the gator sightings one was a big ol bloke probably an 8 footer. It is a whole different experience seeing a gator while in a kayak. Watching him watch you then he slowly disapears into the pitch black water, leaving only a trail of bubbles, spooky.

Adam Farrell's Digital Cinematorgraphy Projects

This is my second digital cinematography project. It is really dark so I don't know how it will look on your computer screen. I lit it with a Arri 650 watt fresnel and a Match not too shabby ay. Shot on panasonic's sdx900 or dvcpro 50, my friend Sarah was the actress and I though she did a very nice job.



This is my final for Digital Cinematography. I had to act as Director of Photography for another students project. My friend Matt Smith wrote and directed this movie for graduate directing. I was trying to go for a CSI miami lighting style. This was also shot with the sdx900.

Farrell Famliy Car Ride

Keely, Wintrop, Cassidy, and I took a drive to Beaufort, South Carolina last night. Our destination was the HWY 21 Drive in Theatre. We saw the new Shrek movie (mildly entertaining). It was a lot of fun and Keely enjoyed her first Corn Dog. The only thing that is a bit ridiculous about this theatre is the fact that it is placed directly next to an Air Force base, and on occasion a fighter jet engine would fire up or a Jet would cruise by rendering the antique speaker boxes useless. Still wicked fun debating going back thursday night for The new pirates film.

Cassidy the Terror

Cassidy has been on her out of kennel trial period for the last 2 weeks. It has not gone well. The legs of our coffee table are chewed up, she absolutely demolished our television remote, and this is what I returned home to today. I was only gone 2 hours and the picture does not do justice to the amount of shredded paper (some old pictures and drawings) that covered the living room. Back in the cage goes Cassidy.

Digital Cinematography - Painting Project

For my digital cinematography project I had to recreate a painting. I chose Jaques-Louis David's "The Death of Marat" because of its dramatic lighting. Backstory; Marat was assasinated (stabbed while in the tub) during the french revolution, by a woman from the opposition. I shot it on Panasonics HVX200 HD camera in 720P, I am really happy with it. Keely was my art director, and you would never know this was shot in the living room of our apartment.

Had a good ol' Fashioned Boiled dinner on st. patty's day. Lot's a family and friends. My dad manned the huge pot of potatoes turnips carrots onions and cabbage as well as the cornbeef. Not to shabby.

Claxton, GA Rattlesnake roundup

OK i'm a bit behind schedule in my blogging. Two weeks ago Keely and I drove about an hour north west of savannah to Claxton, GA the fruitcake capitol of the world (I'm not joking), For an event we have been waiting all year for THE RATTLESNAKE ROUNDUP. Anyway it was an experience, not exactly as exciting as we both had imagined, but still worth the trip.

Well the quarter is winding down, I screened my directing final today in class. My professor had nothing, but good things to say. So that was nice. People are all ready wearing their green down here the city is expecting 700,000 people to attend the parade, I am glad to be getting the hell out of here, but do hate to leave the eighty degree weather we are having. Gonna freeze my ass off up north next week, but it'll be worth it.

This mutant duck guards the canal it makes a weird hissing weezy noise and it bit me when I tried to pet it.
