Self Portrait

Had to make a 5 minute self portrait for my graduate directing class. It is super compressed so the quality is poopy, anyway here it is, enjoy.

Jess 'N' Jay

Had a lot of fun with Jess and Jay. As usual when Jess comes we packed a week worth of activities into 3 days. I would like to write more, but I'm still trying to get used to my new work schedule (m-f 4am - 9am), so I'm going to attempt to take a nap.

NEW YEARS IN NEW ORLEANS III

It's hard to describe the New Years celebration in Mid City, New Orleans. First, everyone drags out there old dried up Xmas trees into a large median and stacks them up as high as they can, the crowd cheers on all new comers arriving with tree in hand. Second, every aspiring pyrotechnician rolls in with a wheel barrow full of fire works and a case of beer. Third, midnight strikes and the gas soaked trees ar set ablaze as fire works are shot off from every direction. Resulting in one of the best New Years I have ever had.

NEW YEARS IN NEW ORLEANS II

I don't know if you can tell, but this is me running around the bonfire.

NEW YEARS IN NEW ORLEANS

Made the ten hour trip down to New Orleans for New Years. My Brother-in-law Kyle and his girlfriend Erin are living down there currently so we decided what the hell. I asked Keely if she wanted to make the trip and she said, "It's irresponsible, it's dangerous, and we have to do it." Then we proceeded to Hi 5. (true story) Anyway we left Savannah @ 3pm friday and got to The Big Easy around midnight, their time, smart folks would have went 2 bed, but me all hopped up on the red bull decided to go out for a night cap. We made the best out of saturday, but I think the majority of us were hurtin' a bit. We did take a drive to see some of the damage caused by Hurricane Katrina and I had all intentions of taking pictures, but while driving through the abandoned neighborhoods, the devestation and emptiness was overwhelming. Nothing has been done, whole neighborhoods lie in decay. Seeing the yellow stains of the water lines, the spray painted doorways left by the national guard, and the eerie absence of life I couldn't pick up my camera. I felt like a tragedy tourist.

OK enough of that. We spent sunday afternoon in the french quarter walking around checking out bourbon st.
